Finally, the Month-Long Dell Laptop Repair is Over

Or more like a month and 10 days. To recap, I had my XPS M1330 repaired last January 3, after it failed to boot-up. Octagon promised it would take two weeks worth of business days (excluding the weekend in other words), but the laptop was ready for pick-up last Friday—after 30 business days.

Here are the specs of our new toy: Intel Core 2 Duo [...]

Octagon Beats Electroworld’s Prices

Wouldn’t you believe it? The Octagon Computer Superstore offers the Dell XPS M1330 for P8,000 less than competitor Electroworld! We were about to spend our hard-earned money on Electroworld’s price of P87,995, which would mean paying P7,322.92 for the next 12 months, on 0% interest. Luckily we decided to look around first. Down the hallway [...]

Dell Laptops in the Philippines

It took more than a month for a Dell XPS M1330 to be repaired. Find out why. While we continue to have reservations, Dell’s consumer offerings in the Philippines are actually quite reasonable. At least compared to other locally retailed brands. Left to right: The Inspiron 1520, the colorful Inspiron 1420, and the XPS M1330 [...]

“The Death of PC Gaming” Bandwagon

The death of PC gaming has been a constant prediction for as long as we can remember. The numerous articles online may feature different evidence and different reasoning, but the conclusions are practically the same: gaming consoles will get better, and PC hardware will have a hard time keeping pace.
