Personal Information Management
Personal Information Management “refers to both the practice and the study of the activities people perform in order to acquire, organize, maintain, retrieve and use information” (Wikipedia). More casually, the term usually specifies the “organizer” functions found in a gadget, such as the address book and calendar applications found on a cell phone.
The aim of PIM has always been to make information as easily and quickly available as possible, by making data much easier to manage and browse through.
