Aiaiai Capital Headphones Review
I don’t know what it is but I have been looking for a replacement for my Hedkandi headphones and voila! a new pair of freshly released Aiaiai Capital headphones arrived on my doorstep.
If you haven’t heard of them, Aiaiai is a relatively new company based in Denmark that aims to conquer the personal audio space with a durable design and exceptionally performing devices. I am actually surprised that a unit is here with me as they just literally released this internationally just a few weeks back. So, lets see if the Aiaiai Capital headphones are any good, shall we?
The Aiaiai Capital comes in a sturdy white box with a flip top design, open it up and you will see the Capital unit embedded in a chunk of thick foam. Beneath the foam you will see the Aiaiai Capital manual. The capital unit, at first glance, seems like a an early design unit with minimal standout aesthetic features but that’s part of it’s charm. The Capital was targeted at DJ’s and other musically inclined folks who demand build quality that will stand up to abuse.
The fiber glass build of the Capital lends a lot to its durability, making the unit water resistant to some degree. The circular earpads on the Capital were quite comfortable when i used them but may be an issue for some, especially if used for prolonged stretches of time, due to having a rather hard foam. I also like the thick and relatively tangle free cord and angled plug. I didn’t like how they made the remote though as it feels clunky and wished they used a softer set of tactile buttons or just a simple slider. The capital also has an adjustable slider for the length although the plastic they used makes me a bit uncomfortable that i may break it somehow (btw: i didn’t =)).
In terms of audio quality, i must say i love the Capital. Even colleagues who tried it say that the capital makes for an enjoyable audio experience. Songs you have heard hundreds of times become fresher. I must recommend the Capital for everyday listening and i think it is one of the better headphones in it’s price range.
The Aiaiai Capital Headphones have an SRP of Php 4,450 and is worth every peso. Oh how i wish we didn’t need to return it =) Highly recommended!
