Since purchasing a DSLR camera a few weeks back, i have been scouring the internet for new accessories and new lenses for my photography hobby. Among these are speedlights, telephoto and macro lenses, and camera bags. It’s a bit of a good timing then that Crumpler’s Pleasure Dome arrived on my desk and gave me a chance to see if it’s as good as it’s bigger cousins.

The first thing you will notice about the Crumpler Pleasure Dome is that it is small and compact. But don’t be fooled as the Dome can handle a micro 4/3 or large compact digital camera snugly. It won’t handle long telephoto lenses on Canon or Nikon DSLRs but your standard 18-55mm lens and the shorter 50mm lens would fit just fine. Other things you can put in it are: you iPhone 4S/Samsung Galaxy S3, small jewelry, currency, USB drives, small packets of food, and lots of other items that need protection.

The Dome also features a detachable and adjustable strap for over the shoulder carrying, padded grips for handholding and velcro-fastening webbing for attaching it to your belt or other Crumpler accessories. Crumpler’s bags always have these features that make the consumer’s life much more comfortable.

Aside from also being water resistant, which helps protect any gadget or item inside the dome from potentially being damaged, the Dome also was constructed using ultra durable materials and reinforced stitching on all stress points. This is quality that you get from Crumpler products and it’s good to see it being applied to something so compact. If you ever used a Crumpler before, you know what i mean.

Another good thing about the Pleasure Dome is that it opens up like a clamshell, which protects your gadgets/items from falling out accidentally. If you’re like me who likes to stuff things in a bag and occasionally gets frustrated by things falling out especially when pulling things out, then this is heaven sent.

In a nutshell, the Crumpler Pleasure Dome (Small) is your typical high quality Crumpler product in a smaller package: sleek, comfortable and durable.

The Crumpler Pleasure Dome (Small) retails for Php 1,650.00 and is available at Digital Walker, Beyond the Box, Crumpler Stores and Digital Hub.
