Filipino Marco Rosales asked his fellow web designers “How do you explain ‘Web Hosting‘ to a client?” One answer he received is so understandable that even kids won’t be left scratching their heads.

Sighted on Facebook:

Marco Rosales: How do you explain “Web Hosting” to a client?

Alfredo Palconit Jr: sabihin mo to sir: “sir, para po yang tindahan, kung saan ilalagay ang mga binibenta. ang domain naman po, ang pangalan ng tindahan.” [Sir, web hosting is like the store where you put up what you're selling. The domain is the name of that store.]

Got any better definitions, dear readers? Loyd Ezra Janobas had a more technical answer:

I’d relate it to hosting a guest of a conference.

IP hosting address – Address of the hotel.
FTP/Hosting Admin is the hotel admin.
Web site – Conference where the guest shows what he came here for.
