iPad 3 Finally Hits Apple PH Store, starts at P23,990
Today Apple started selling the iPad 3 on its official online store for Filipinos, at ₱23,990 for the most basic 16GB WiFi-only version. The good news: iPad 3 debut prices are similar to that of the iPad 2′s. The older tablet has enjoyed a price drop as well.
Like its predecessor, the iPad 3 is available in black or white, in two variants with or without “cellular” (3G/4G) capability, with capacities ranging from 16 to 64GB. The official prices are below. The color choice has no effect on the cost.
| iPad 3 Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| 16GB WiFi | ₱23,990 |
| 32GB WiFi | ₱28,990 |
| 64GB WiFi | ₱33,990 |
| 16GB WiFi + Cellular | ₱29,990 |
| 32GB WiFi + Cellular | ₱34,990 |
| 64GB WiFi + Cellular | ₱39,990 |
The Apple Store Philippines now only sells the 16GB variant of the iPad 2. The WiFi-only version now costs ₱18,990, while its “+ 3G” counterpart goes for₱24,990.
Once again, Apple has priced the iPad competitively. If the marketed advantages of the iPad 3 over its older brother (a higher-resolution display, a better camera, and faster processors) aren’t appealing enough, that WiFi iPad 2 retailing for under ₱19,000 will still prove very tempting. Stocks of the iPad 2 are limited of course; Apple has now phased out the older tablet, as it clears remaining inventory.
Still, we’re sure that there are some sellers out there who managed to shave a thousand or so off the official iPad 3 retail price. If you’ve found a lower price for the iPad 3, do share it as a comment here, or on our Facebook page.
