New CD-R King Product a Boon for High-End Smartphone Owners
Budget consumer electronics retailer CD-R King has started selling a micro USB to HDMI cable, a useful accessory for those who want to turn their high-end smartphones into portable presentation and video player devices.
Many newer smartphones and tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Note can show images on TVs and other external display devices like projectors and computer monitors. That’s made possible through a cable that connects the phone’s microUSB port with the display’s HDMI-in.
The display device mimicks what appears on the phone’s screen. So it’s possible for users to show presentations, or play movies for everyone in the room. There are numerous gadgets on the market that support this microUSB-to-HDMI video out functionality, but CD-R King has listed a few devices that will work with the cable:
- Samsung Galaxy S II i9100
- HTC G14 sensation
- Samsung I1997 infuse 4G
- HTC EVO
- HTC Flyer and EVO view tablets
CD-R King’s microUSB-HDMI cable costs ₱680.00, and features one microUSB plug that goes into the phone, an HDMI plug that goes into the external display, and a microUSB port to accomodate the phone’s charger, so that the mobile stays powered.
Our only complaint? Most of the devices advertised as compatible with the cable by CD-R King feature black casing. The cable itself is white.
