Packaging, Performance and Accessories

Both Brainwavz earbuds come in a nice packaging that includes a set of accessories. One outstanding thing about both these earbuds is that they fit really well and are very comfortable that i could use them for hours on end. Both have very good build quality and are well worth the price.

So, what is the difference between the Alpha and the Beta? I tested both earphones on various music tracks (Eminem, Usher, Jay-Z, Lifehouse, Aerosmith, some sentis and some oldies), Movies, and Games (NBA 2k11, Team Fortress 2, Torchlight) and here’s what i found:

  • The Brainwavz Alpha has a deeper/bigger bass sound than the Beta but the Beta has better clarity.
  • The Beta fits me better than expected even though the size of the unit was bigger than the Alpha
  • Both are built well, and the accessories they come in are an added bonus.

Final Word
The Brainwavz Alpha and Beta are very good inexpensive earphones that cater to two different segments. The Alpha is a better fit for those who want louder bass in their audio while for those looking for clarity (spoken dialogue in games and movies benefit from this) should get the Brainwavz Beta. If i had to pick one, I’d go with the Beta due to the very good clarity as i love my games/movies/music. But you cant go wrong with either, it just boils down to preference.

BRAINWAVZ Earphones are available at the following stores:

  • Beyond the Box
  • Digital Hub
  • Digital Walker
