iPhone 5 enjoys more general interest than Nexus Prime

Last week I asked you dear readers “The iPhone 5 or Nexus Prime? Why?“. If both phones—still part of the rumor mill—were already on the market and you could buy either one, which would you go for?

In retrospect, asking people to comment on rumored gadgets was a bit counterproductive. When I asked everyone to provide their answers on Twitter through the #TechThursdays hashtag, many mistook my question as an announcement that the iPhone 5 was already on the market.

A rumored design of the iPhone 5

But that misunderstanding represents the general consumer interest in Apple’s next smartphone, at least based from what I saw on Twitter. But the Nexus Prime did have its supporters:

Rob Benwell: It will be a better phone, but that won’t stop the masses from blindly buying yet another iPhone iteration.

Steve Jobs must be laughing all the way to the bank.

bursky: considering my lack of ‘hacking’ skills, the iPhone5 would suit me well. but at the back of my head, being the curious guy who loves to tinker with stuff occasionally, i would keep on telling myself that i should get the Nexus. then again, i’ve always preferred a physical qwerty keypad over touchscreen phones.
