Remember when Sony promised to donate money on behalf of those who bought a BRAVIA LCD TV? Earlier this week, Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon dropped by to pick up the proceeds.

Here’s a picture of Senator Gordon taking the check from Mr. Alvin de Vera of Sony Philippines:

Mr. Gordon will then forward the money to relief efforts in Japan, which are still underway due to widespread destruction caused by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami of last March.

I can’t see the amount on the check, but it looks like six figures. Assuming Sony Philippines donated ₱100,000, that’s a thousand BRAVIA TVs sold from April 15 to May 15, 2011. Not bad at all!
