comScore: Facebook Top Destination in Philippines
“In the Philippines, Facebook.com reigned as the most-visited destination reaching 93 percent of online users, the highest penetration of any global market for the social networking site.”
That according to a press release dated today by comScore. However, the company’s survey of regional web usage doesn’t take into account surfing habits on publicly-used computers. Only “Home & Work Locations” have been counted, for a “Total Audience” of 15 and above.
Nevertheless, the comScore Media Matrix results for May 2010 may be the most accurate picture of Philippine web usage so far. At the very least, it’s another sign that Friendster’s dead. comScore tracks the usage habits of over 2 million worldwide, using classic survey techniques to extrapolate results for the general population or a specific region.
