Charice Pempengco Now Trending on Twitter

As various news outlets discuss Charice Pempengco’s appearance in Glee, the Filipina singer is now trending on Twitter—right between the new iPhone OS, and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Yet more proof that Filipino’s are very active online? Twitter trends are usually an accurate indicator of the hot topics being discussed through the microblogging service. Tweets containing “Charice” are appearing rapidly right now (around 3:00 PM, June 22, 2010). In the time it took me to write and publish this short update, over 500 new tweets about the Filipina were posted.
