The Gadgets of Carmina Topacio
Want to become a YouTube semi-celebrity? As Carmina Topacio shows, a simple laptop webcam will do.
More specifically, the webcam of a white 13-inch Macbook. That’s what Carmina uses to create and upload videos to her YouTube channel (where she’s enjoyed over 2 million views as of this writing). She even used it to take the pictures below:
In fact, take away her Macbook and you pretty much cripple her Ms. Topacio: “My laptop keeps me from getting bored. With it, I can surf the internet, chat, and play video games. It is also what I use to make my youtube videos and most importantly, my homework.”
As you can see from the pictures above, Carmina also owns a 2008 Danger Sidekick (for keeping in touch with friends and family) and a PSP. Other gadgets in her arsenal include an iPod which she brings almost everywhere, a PS2, a Wii, and a Nintendo DS. “I don’t think that I am a tech-obsessed geek. But I am quite obsessed with playing video games. You might find it a little dorky, but I play dota. Hahaha!”
Aside from studying at De La Salle University, gaming, and listening to her iPod, Carmina Topacio also creates and uploads YouTube videos, like this:
…and this:
If Carmina Topacio can teach us anything, it’s that gadgets alone don’t make it possible to attract over 7000 subscribers to your YouTube channel. It’s still the personality!
