Video of the Nokia N900 in Action, First Impressions and Pictures

Update: According to Nokia higher-ups, the N900 will should officially hit the Philippine market by March 2010

A quick trip to the Nokia Philippines office saw me actually try out the Nokia N900. A 3-minute video phone’s multi-tasking capabilities in action follows, and pictures of the unit at different angles.

As you can see, the N900 felt very responsive, and the interface animations were smooth. This was true even when I ran multiple apps at the same time. However, due to the phone’s size and the placement of the sliding QWERTY keyboard, it felt slightly awkward typing text. From my few minutes of use, it’s clear that the N900 is meant to be used entirely in landscape mode, with or without the keyboard exposed.

A slider switch on the right side lets users lock the phone to prevent accidental presses on the huge 3.5″ 800 x 480 touch screen, and 5 megapixel camera on the back is protected by its own slider. Virtually similar to the N97′s the N900′s camera features a slightly narrower focal length of 5.2.

Thanks to my limited use, I wasn’t able see how long the phone would last on a single charge, and other important stuff. Nokia refused to divulge specific regarding local price and availability, so in the meantime feel free to enjoy the photos of the Maemo-powered phone below. Hopefully we can get a review unit soon, so stay tuned!

I was able to place an order for one already from a local supplier with contacts overseas.

It should come sometime within the year but probably not before Christmas.

it’s around 50,000 pesos , might as well look at the alternatives like the optima 5E with Meamo , or better yet, just consider androids.
