Rule of Writing Online #10

Double-check your online advertising copy. That’s my advice for whoever’s managing Mark Jimenez’s online campaign to clear his name. Team Jimenez needs to rethink the ad pointing to markjimenez.com that appeared on Technograph yesterday.

Screenshot of the ad below (click to see the full-size version):
Mark-Jimenez-Human-Rights-Violations-Defender

The text of the ad reads:

Mark Jimenez – True Story
Human Rights Violations Victim and Defender, Philanthropist Family Man

The copy should’ve simply read “Human Rights Violations Victim” or “Defender of Human Rights”, unless Team Jimenez wants people to think that Mark Jimenez is a victim of human rights violations, and a defender of human rights violations! Pretty contradictory, don’t you think?

Update, here’s another ad from Team Mark Jimenez, courtesy of Jeff:
Mark-Jimenez-Ad

The text reads: “Rapist of 11-yr Old Girl. Supported by Morally Corrupt. Manny Villar, Gibo Teodoro and Erap”. Misleading at best, libelous at worst!

Like in ancient Rome , “washing hand” method to cover up crimes. Like what Pilate did by giving an order for the crucifixion of a Jewish teacher.
