With national outrage over the Maguindanao massacre growing over the alleged kid-gloves treatment by President GMA’s adminstration, Filipino YouTube user “Charlizzie” decided to express his anger over the event.

Here’s Charlizzie’s My Message To The Ampatuans (And The Arroyos), uploaded last November 25, before Andal Ampatuan Jr. was formally charged with multiple counts of murder:

Who is Charlizzie?

According to YouTube user “SuperTimawa2″, Charlizzie is Jawomar B. Maligayo, taking up “BAMC” with student ID 200713731. A quick Google search reveals that a Mr. Maligayo studies at Cavite State University, and actually auditioned for Season 1 of Philippine Idol back in 2006!

Jawomar “Charlie” Maligayo – in his interview he “want(s) to dedicated” his audition to Holly, Hillary Duff, Cueshe, and the whole Cavite State University. Upon audition, he gave letters to the judges and refused to talk until he is instructed to sing. His rendition of Selena’s “Dreaming Of You” did not get the judges’ nod. Auditioned in Manila.

Here’s the video of the audition, from The Imperious Dork:

To be clear, I have no idea if SuperTimawa2 has conclusively identified Charlizzie. In any case, Mr. Maligayo wrote that he uses “Charlizzie” as an alias on his American Idol blog. Whoever he is, he’s got balls, expressing clear disdain for the powerful Ampatuan poltical clan.

Unsolicited Advice

I’m no expert in stating my opinions through online video, but here’s some unsolicited advice for Charlizzie:

  • Rehearse your spiel. So that you know what to say and don’t have to pause to think of what comes next. Why take up 3 minutes and 49 seconds of your audience’s time when your message needs only a minute at most to state?
  • Don’t use profanity merely to shock. Everything you say in a video should have a point. “That fucking Andal” and the falsetto-laden “Go fuck yourself” (and the way you delivered those phrases) simply takes attention away from your message, serving as hilarious distractions to your audience.
  • Get a better mike. It looks really awkward holding up a mike to your mouth while talking. A good mike picks up your voice even when situated a foot away, allowing the use of hand gestures to emphasize your points.
  • Thanks to Ade for the tip!
