Help the NTC Block Those Pesky Text Scammers

Thanks to our articles on the Handog Pangkabuhayan and Phil. Charity Foundation text scams, a lot of people have avoided getting ripped off. Even better, reader Brixter recently shared a way to help the NTC stop those pesky text spammers.
Guys, the best way to fight them is to report their number and test [text] message to ospac@ntc.gov.ph. You have to give your name, mobile number and address for them to verify your authenticity but they act very fast. I reported a number yesterday and today it is already blocked. I tried calling the number but it is dead.
I’ve thankfully haven’t received any text spam recently, but I will try this once I do. In the meantime, have any of you tried sending the scams you’ve received to the NTC? Have they acted on your complaints? Feel free to share your story below.

i did report one once. never did get an email confirmation or anything. i didn’t bother calling the phone/sim either so… i would have no idea if they just took it out/used another sim or if it was really blocked by NTC…
