The Razer Naga and Megasoma are a mouse and mousepad designed for gamers. They’re distributed locally by ATI, who also distribute the new Bamboo tablets from Wacom. Unboxing photos and first impressions for both items follow.
It’s easy to see that the Razer Naga serves a special purpose, since it feature 14 extra buttons. The 12 on the left side of the unit mimic the numeric keypad on your typical keyboard. By default, buttons 1 to 10 corresponding to 1 to 0, while 11 and 12 are the dash and equals sign respectively.
There are two more just to the left of the left mouse button, and the mouse wheel of course acts as another button when pressed down. Blue lights adorn the entire mouse, lighting buttons 1 to 12 and the mouse wheel.
The Megasoma is a white mousepad with a rubberized underside and a textured surface. It does a great job of staying put on the desk, especially when downward pressure is applied on it. Around the size of a bond paper, the Megasoma requires a lot of desk space, but also creates a lot of room for mouse movement as a result.
