Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Costs P12,150 in the Philippines

In many ways the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a newer version of the 5800, Nokia’s first touch-screen phone. But the 5530 retails for only P12,150 (compared to the 5800’s P19,990 launch price), despite two included extras that immensely increases the phone’s value-for-money proposition.
Each 5530 sold in the Philippines comes with 60 days of free WiFi at any Airborne Access hotspot, and 500 credits for the Universal Music mobile store (only accessible through certain Nokia phones). In other words, those who buy the 5530 XpressMusic get two months worth of free internet, and effectively 500 legit copies of videos and songs.
All they have to do is visit the link above, and register for an account (entering the activation code that comes with the phone is required). Once this is done, they can browse the catalog, and for every song or video downloaded 1 credit is deducted from their starting total of 500.
The are some caveats with these freebies however: the music store selection seems quite limited, in sometimes weird ways. There are tons of Bryan Adams songs, but I only found one Akon song (Right Now) and video (Blame Me). The search function didn’t work, returning database errors. Also, the free WiFi is locked to the phone itself; it’s not possible to use it on another WiFi-capable device.
Still, at first glance, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic seems to maximize every peso of the P12,150 you’ll spend on it. Aside from getting a touch-screen phone that’s Wi-Fi capable, with a standard 3.5mm earphone jack and a 2.0 megapixel camera, future owners get the free WiFi, music, and videos discussed above. Stay tuned for a full review!

i hope nokia will update the software of 5800 to include an application bar below the phone screen similar to this one. it seems unfair that 5530 has this and 5800 don’t.

[...] There are also some interface animations currently unique to this relatively affordable phone (SRP is P12,150)βat least until Nokia comes out with updates for the other two [...]
