Smart Mobile Developer Competition Voting Starts

Smart launched a Mobile Developer Competition some months ago and all entries are in.  Voting begins today and the public vote comprises 40% of the total score.

Several developers and/or companies are now competing to win the best Android Application.

So what’s in store for the winner?

• Can be considered by Smart for development into commercial product.

For the Top 2 Entries:

• Trophy
• Total of PhP300,000.00 cash prize
• 2 HTC Magic Phones (1 for each winning team)
• Trip to Hongkong worth P70,000 inclusive of Airfare, Hotel and Accommodations for 2 representatives (1 representative per winning team)
• Winning teams will represent the Philippines at the Conexus Android showcase at the 3GSM Mobile on November 17, 2009

For the People’s Choice Award:

• A trophy will be given to the winner of the Peoples’ Choice Award and will be featured at the Smart Mobile Developer website

Awarding will be on October 16, 2009 in a private event with the awardees, sponsors and media representatives.

So how do you vote?  Head on to this link and choose 7.  One downside though, you have to rely on video demonstration and slide presentation to choose which team to vote for.  Someone said that if you own an Android phone then you can download the application.  I would like to personally try them all but I don’t have an Android phone to try them on.

This kind of competition is great for our great Pinoy developers.  Adapting to new technologies will let us advance in the mobile development world.

I hope Globe Telecom does the same for the iPhone.
