Nokia E52: Full Review

First off, the physical attributes. The Nokia E52 is very similar to the Nokia E51 and they’re both part of the Nokia E series business phones. The E52 sports an aluminum casing with brushed metal finish including the battery cover. The battery cover is a slippery which makes it uncomfortable to hold in one hand. You’ll always feel like it will slip out of your hand. The phone is quite thin which enables it to fit in your pants’ pocket or in your pouch bag.
The phone actually looks like an E71 with the absence of a full QWERTY keyboard. The screen size is just perfect for its size.
The E52 uses a mobile phone charger that attaches to its USB port which is something I did not like. Most Nokia phones uses the same charger model and only a few uses this kind which makes it hard to borrow charger from a colleague or charge in charging stations in malls.
The 3.5mm audio out jack is good because it lets you plug in any headset with standard 3.5mm baby jack.
The phone’s built in camera doesn’t take really good pictures. You can see the quality of the images taken by the phone below.
Some pictures taken using the E52:
The phone comes with BP-4L battery which gives it more power than other Nokia phone models. It lasted me about 5 days with normal use (Voice calls, SMS messages) with WiFi, Bluetooth and sound alerts turned on.
Since the phone uses Symbian OS Version 9 Series 60, it’s quite user friendly. So using the Nokia E52 is just like using other Nokia phone models.
The loudspeaker is not that loud. If you use it outside with sound alerts, you won’t be able to hear the alert tones.
So to summarize:
- The dimensions and weight of the phone is really a selling point.
- The metal finish gives it a classy look and feel.
- The battery cover is a downside since it gives the feeling that the phone will slip out of your hands especially when composing an SMS message.
- The built-in camera (primary) is not that good as you are expecting.
- The 3.5mm audio jack is a good addition.
- Voice call quality is quite good (tested on Smart and Globe network).
- 3G/HSPA works really great on Globe and Smart Network.
- The built-in GPS /A-GPS is a really good feature that E51 lacks.
So all in all I can give the Nokia E52 7 stars out of 10. If you’re looking for a small but elegant business phone, the E52 is a great choice. Official price is PhP17,580.00 which is already a good price for its features and capabilities.

Maybe you can put a summary of E51 vs. E52 difference, so people can assess if it’s worth the price, considering E51 now is less than 10k.
I love everything about my Nokia E51, except the speakers. It’s loudest level isn’t really the loudest!
