Despite Typhoon Ondoy, BPOs continues to Operate
By L.A, 11:11 am Tue Sep 29 2009 - Featured, News - What Do You Think?
Despite the recent flooding due to heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm Ondoy (International Name “Ketsana”), Business Process Outsourcing companies continue to operate without disruptions according to Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP).
BPAP’s chief executive, Oscar Sanez, is sure and confident that most Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies are ready and have the facility to ensure operations to continue in cases of floods and other acts of nature.
BPAP is also forecasting an increase in BPO revenues from $6 billion annually to $8 billion this year because of more investors coming from the United States and Europe.
We all know that BPOs caters to other countries and rain or shine they need to operate to meet the needs of the clients but how about the safety of their employees? Will these companies ensure the safety of their employees? Do they have the facility or the capability to make sure their employees get in and out of the office building safe? Those are just the questions I have in mind. I am just hoping that these companies are ready in cases of typhoon and other calamities since they bring a lot of revenue to the country.
