Typhoon Ondoy: 4 Useful Sites

As thousands remain cut off due to the massive flooding caused by Typhoon Ondoy, those who are fortunate enough to have power and internet connectivity should stay on top of things, if only to maximize our ability to share our luck with the less fortunate. Here are three four sites that merit your attention now.

Philippine Aid – A site that makes it easy for anyone with a PayPal or credit card to contribute to the Philippine Red Cross’ relief efforts. Maintained by some net-savvy former co-workers of mine.
Google’s Help for Typhoon Ondoy Victims in the Philippines – “A group of volunteer map makers have been maintaining the map below, which documents flood updates and persons needing rescue. If you know someone who needs help urgently or if you would like to report the status of the flood in your area, please complete this form. The information will be sent to the group’s main database for posting on the map.”
Helplines and hotlines for Typhoon Ondoy victims (Constantly updated) – By far the most comprehensive and updated information I’ve encountered. Maintained by a Pinay apparently based in New Zealand!
On Twitter: manilaflood – Regular updates on Manila’s shocking flood situation. You can also search through the “Philippines trending topic.
