New iPod Prices in the Philippines

Here are local prices for the new iPods: the iPod shuffle starts at P3,290, while the 8GB iPod nano will retail for P8,790. The 160GB iPod classic will cost P14,490, and the basic iPod touch goes for P11,490. A complete price table follows.
| iPod | Variant | Price |
|---|---|---|
| iPod shuffle | 2GB | P3,290 |
| 4GB | P4,390 | |
| aluminum 4GB special edition | P5,490 | |
| iPod nano | 8GB | P8,790 |
| 16GB | P10,490 | |
| iPod classic | 160GB | P14,490 |
| iPod touch | 8GB | P11,490 |
| 32GB | P17,490 | |
| 64GB | P23,490 |
The generations of the iPods above? The 3rd-gen shuffle, the 5th gen nano, and the 6th-gen classic. The 8GB iPod touch is a second-generation variant, while the 32GB and 64GB versions are marketed as the third-gen.
Just remember, the new iPod can capture videos at 640 x 480 resolution—but can’t take pictures for some reason. Also, Apple’s now pushing the new iPod touch as a portable gaming platform among other things, but significant changes (voice control support and bundled remote earphones) are only present in the 32GB and 64GB variants. Some more notes from the intrepid Jayvee:
- “The yellow and Product Red versions of the 5th generation iPod nano are only available in the online store.”
- “The special edition ipod shuffle in aluminum… is only available through the Apple Online Store for Philippines..”

The new nano can’t take stills because as Steve Jobs said (kuno) that picture stills need a bit more space and that means you won’t have a slim nano if you’re going to take pictures.
