New P40 Globe Tattoo SIM Integrates Mobile and Internet Services
Local blogger LA Lomarda attended a Globe event last Saturday, where the telco introduced new services and gave a netbook to someone willing to get an actual tattoo. Here’s his report.
Globe launched its new prepaid service called “Globe Tattoo” last Saturday, August 29, at the Handle Bar in Makati City. Globe Tattoo is the first-ever prepaid SIM that can be used for both mobile and Internet. A new SIM costs P40.00 and comes with variety of modem pop-art-inspired design.
Globe Tattoo also offers a new service called ImmortalTXT. ImmortalTXT gives users 50 SMS messages to Globe/TM subscribers and 10 SMS messages to other networks for only 10 pesos and it has no expiry. So when you subscribe to ImmortalTXT, you don’t have to worry that you need to consume the allowed number of SMS messages before it expires. All you need to have is a balance of 1 peso remaining on your account to continue enjoying the service.
Globe also gave us a sneak peak of the Globe Tattoo YOUniverse portal, which is like a social networking site. Users can communicate with each other or browse the user-generated content in their Digg-like section.
The launch party was packed with fun and excitement. Up Dharma Down and Sleepwalk Circus performed a few songs. Globe also challenged everyone to get a tattoo and take home a Dell Mini netbook. Lauren Dado got the netbook and of course a tattoo.
Globe also showcased a sneak peek of their Globe Tattoo YOUniverse Television Commercial, which is a great TVC to promote the service to pre-teen and teen audience.
Overall, the party was fun and Globe is definitely hitting us with great new services.
