Nokia E52 Improves on E51, But Pricier at P17,580

The Nokia E51 was a very affordable and compact phone that had, among many other things, WiFi built-in. Its successor, Nokia E52, adds more functionality to practically the same package—at a cost though.
Here’s a side-by-side comparison of both phones:
| Nokia E52 | Nokia E51 | |
|---|---|---|
| Services | Full Ovi services suite | |
| Dimensions | 116 x 49 x 9.9mm | 115 x 47 x 9mm |
| Standby time | Up to 28 days | Up to 13 days |
| Talk time | Up to 8 hours | Up to 4.4 hours |
| Networks | HSDPA/HSUPA | WCDMA |
| A-GPS | Yes | No |
| USB charging | Yes | No |
| Display | 320×240 | 240×320 |
| Camera | 3.2 Mpix | 2.0 Mpix |
| Headset jack | Standard 3.5 mm | Proprietary |
The slightly larger E52 brings a longer-lasting battery, faster wireless web connectivity, a better camera, the standard 3.5mm audio jack, and microUSB connectivity to the table. Definitely worthy additions, but is that all worth P5,000 more?
The P17,580 price pushes the E52 into the higher part of the mid-end price point, promoting the Nokia E63 into the cheapest mainstream phone with WiFi built-in. In any case, the E52 is Nokia’s new business-oriented smartphone for budget-conscious peeps, and comes in “Metal Grey Aluminum” or “Golden Aluminum”.
Expect a review once we get our hands on a unit.

I personally prefer the E63, if only for its QWERTY keyboard! Don’t worry, that’s still a good buy.
