Choose Songs For Lea Salonga’s December Concert Online

For a concert on December 11 and 12 of this year, at the PICC Plenary Hall, the internationally-famous Filipina songbird is calling on fans to “help me shape this show by letting me know exactly what you’d like to hear me sing!” It’s like being that American serviceman who had his way with Kim in Miss Saigon, only entirely online and much more respectful!
Just head over to leayoursongs.com, read the greeting “written” by Ms. Salonga, and specify what songs you’d like to hear by sending in an email, or even uploading a video of yourself. It isn’t clear how many songs you can request—maybe you can ask for her entire discography?—but after September 30, 2009, requests will no longer be accepted. The top 3 songs will be revealed, and those who requested for any of them become part of a raffle for free tickets.
The site, while well-designed, lacks a crucial feature: fans can’t send in votes through mobile. Or at least, if that’s possible, there are no details given on the site. That’s a nitpick though: this is a great way to reward the fans while marketing a concert at the same time! Oh, one more thing: “…if you have any photos with me, please send them to the Photos page. I’d love to have a copy for my scrapbook!”
