Globe’s Nokia N97 Prices, Plus Total Cost Over 2 Years

A recent trip to a Globe Service Center (Shangri-la Mall, Ortigas) revealed that the telco was bundling the Nokia N97 with its 24-month plans, as of August 1, 2009. Handset pricing details follow.
Depending on the plan a subscriber commits to, the N97 can cost as much as P31,000 (amazingly more expensive than Ambassador Appliance’s price as of two weeks ago) to nothing. Keep in mind though that nothing in life is for free, as handset plans carry a two-year lock-in.
| Plan (and Monthly Fee) | Handset Price | Total Cost Over 2 Years |
|---|---|---|
| Ext 250 | 31,000 | 37,000 |
| Ext 500 | 30,500 | 42,500 |
| 500 | 30,500 | 42,500 |
| 800 | 30,000 | 49,200 |
| 1200 | 28,500 | 57,300 |
| 1800 | 24,400 | 67,600 |
| 2500 | 23,500 | 83,500 |
| 3500 | 19,500 | 103,500 |
| 5000 | Free | 120,000 |
| 7000 | Free | 168,000 |
| 10000 | Free | 240,000 |
Compare: Globe’s iPhone Prices, Plus Total Cost Over 2 Years (Globe’s plans for the iPhone are more aggressively priced, with free units starting at less expensive plans. The total cost of the N97 Plan 5000 and the iPhone Plan 4999 are practically the same though).
