Last Friday saw me blogging away, in a Blendz coffee shop along De la Rosa st., Makati CBD. Here are some stats on my 30-minute Smart Mobile Internet for your perusal.

It’s not clear if I was using the same service Smart offers to its Smart Bro subscribers. All I know was that for every 30 minutes I was online, my prepaid account loses 10 pesos of credit.

I was able to download around 9.23MB of data, and upload 1.38. Note the 33:55 duration.

Speedtest returned a download speed of 1.01 Mb/s, and an upload speed of 0.22 Mb/s.

To sum all that up, my experience last Friday was great. Pages loaded relatively quickly and I was able to get a lot done within half-an-hour. I don’t think I’ll try downloading videos or playing online games through my N97 modem (HSDPA) though.

I would use http://speed.io or http://www.internetfrog.com/ for speed tests. speedtest.net gives higher speeds for some reason.
