As of this writing, here are the current iPhone (both 3G and 3S) prices from Globe. Here’s a table breaking down how much you have to spend per month depending on the postpaid plan you sign up for, as well as the total amount you’ll end up spending over the 24-month contract.

Looking at the total prices, it’s now easy to see what that store at Greenhills priced an unlock 16GB iPhone 3GS at 49,000.

I don’t understand. Why iPhone 3GS 16GB is FREE under Plan 3299 while the iPhone 3G both 8/16GB with cash-out.
In short, iPhone 3G is expensive than iPhone 3GS.

because apple dropped the price of iphone 3gs, it is much cheaper than the previous iphone version.

The 8GB iPhone 3G is priced at $99 (with contract of course). So saying that Apple made the iPhone 3GS cheaper is false. The 16GB iPhone 3G, by the way, is no longer available in Apple’s website. Only the 16GB iPhone 3GS.
Globe is doing something fishy with their pricing. It’s ridiculous to price the iPhone 3G more than the 3GS.

Hey guys i heard about the pricing issue as well. But I think what Globe is saying about “they made it cheaper” is because the going rate (for the iphone 3GS alone) is still relatively high in south east asia…I mean if you think about it, what makes the iphones expensive here is the tax and shipping costs…same with IBM laptops…So come to think of it, i think getting the iphone from Globe would be a good deal, if you don’t mind the closed line. But hell, i wouldn’t lend my iphone to anyone anyway

Thanks for putting the price schemes for Globe iphone 3Gs. I calculated that plan 899 on iphone 3Gs 16GB for 2 years will cost me around 46,450 in total, far more cheaper than in Greenhills (i think?) but yeah like what marc had said, iphone from Globe would be a good deal and i can not cash out 49k instantly. at least i could get my iphone 3Gs instantly by cashing out 24,850 and pay 899 for 2 years.
