The Facebook Setting You Have to Change
To make a long story short, you should set your account’s “Appearance in Facebook ads” setting to “No One”. This prevents a Facebook ad from using your avatar to give itself a personal touch. Here’s what could happen to you if you don’t change this setting as recommended.

If you don’t want to show up in your friends’ FaceBook ads, go to:
- Settings
- Privacy
- News Feed and Wall
- Click on “Facebook Ads”
- In the “Appearance in Facebook Ads” box, click “no one” (unless, of course, you actually want to tell your spouse to check out hot singles)
