You can text OK to get updates on the traffic situation along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), “to 09065420734 for Globe, 09232335253 for Sun, and 09287829222 for Smart.” (Thanks Alexei!)

This service covers the Alabang to Magallanes stretch, so its usefulness is mainly helping Makati- or Manila-bound drivers determine whether they should take the Skyway or not. Personally, reports on traffic activity between the Alabang and Bicutan exits isn’t really necessary. Thanks to the long-delayed Skyway extension project, congestion in this area has been constantly heavy.

SLEX is definitely not the longest highway in the world, currently featuring a measly length of 75.8 kilometers. But as the connector of Metro Manila to some of the Philippines’ most-populated provinces, SLEX is probably one of the most active.
