Aryty: Modern Cell Phone Load Begging

Aryty (aryty.com.ph) “lets you simply ask all your friends to send you a free load. If they are a first time user and qualify for an aryty.com account they will get some load to send you absolutely free.”

arytyThus it’s an online way of saying “pa-send ng load naman oh”. To be fair, the service only lets prepaid users receive load, so we can assume that Aryty is accessible to those who need it the most. The point is building a load-sharing relationship between someone and a more affluent relative or friend, someone who can afford to regularly send load.

What does Aryty get out of this? To use the service, people need to provide their email and Friendster information. Veteran online marketers will easily note that Aryty’s aim is to build a database of users and their contact info, allowing advertisements and what-not to be sent to them on the behalf of paying clients.

    Its spamming me!

I’ve been receiving emails from people i don’t know. Its a deceitful marketing strategy. because its saying that they are giving free load. pero when you register, yun pala manghihingi ka pa ng load sa ibang tao.

    Its a fake

    • http://technogra.ph Rico

Yeah, that’s the catch nga. So basically, strangers are tagging you as their friends, in an effort to get you to send them load?

    Rico,

Thanks for your story about Aryty! As you point out in your story Aryty.com.ph allows Filipinos to “ask” for prepaid load. Aryty forwards those requests for load to those invited just like a friend request on a social network. Customers of Aryty.com living in places like the USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Germany, Australia and more can then send a 1st time load free to the requestor or any other loved one in Pinas. We offer this free trial so people can see how great Aryty works!

I would like to correct your statement regarding our aim to build a database and send ads. Aryty does not send ads or spam on behalf of paying clients. Additionally we do not sell user data. We simply communicate information regarding Aryty as stated in our Privacy Policy here:

    http://www.aryty.com.ph/privacy.php

Each month millions of pesos load are sent via Aryty.com to loved ones in the Philippines. Satisfied customers is what makes that happen and respecting our customers privacy is one of the things that keeps them happy. :-)

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions regarding our service or policies. We’d love to keep you updated about our service and thanks again for the story!

    Salamat po,

    Nils

Hi Nils, thanks for dropping by!

To be clear, I was just theorizing over your company’s business model. Because any business has to make a profit, right? Building a database to send permitted marketing-oriented messages is perfectly acceptable for me (I used to be an email marketer after all). So is the practice of placing ads paid for by a client on email newsletters (i.e., no user info is shared, but client still gets exposure). Based on what you say, this is obviously not how Aryty makes money.

If you don’t mind me asking, do you guys make money off commissions on load transfers? Also, having not yet tried the service, what Migs said about receiving spam from the service is not entirely clear to me. Would it be possible to get a clarification from you regarding this?

Again, thanks for dropping by. It’s great to see an executive aware of what people are saying about his product or service. :)

      Regards,
      Rico

Not at all free. They have a misleading ad.
If it’s free, why would they ask for CC info?

    Rico,

We earn money from the load people buy using Aryty. Our idea is to make it easier and more fun to use Aryty for senders and their loved ones. Applications like “Send a Birthday load” would be a an example of that. Great apps will lead to more load sales. The only way we can become big is if customers love our service and if it’s different than others out there. This is our business model.

Mig may have got an email invite from a friend or a reminder to join. All emails have a very clear unsubscribe link at bottom that work with one click if she doesn’t want to get email from us. We hate spam too and try to make it easy to stop. Feel free to give her my email if she would like it or Mig please tweet me @aryty with your email and I’ll make sure you don’t get more mail.

We recently introduced a new way to get free load which is a referral program where people can get a link to post asking others to join or send load. If 8 users join by clicking the link the user will get a free load! Check it out

Remember, we also give first time users in USA, Canada, UK, Japan and several other countries 30p free to try us out.

Thanks for the effort to understand and we’ll be sure to keep you posted on new features po!

    Ingatz,

    Nils
