The Nokia E72 Will Cost P22,000 in the Philippines, Featuring 5 Megapixels and HSUPA

Enter the Nokia E72: reporting from Singapore, Jayvee shares details on this business-oriented smartphone. And he’s even got a video!

nokia-e72To summarize, the Nokia E72 is an improved version of the popular E71, right down to the tablet form factor and business-friendly features like WiFi and email management. Signifcant upgrades are the 5.0 megapixel camera (compared to the E71’s 3.2) and the move to HSUPA (a faster version of the locally-known HSDPA). The addition of a 3.5mm audio jack—which allows standard earphones and headphones to plug into the phone—is welcome. As Jayvee writes:

Lastly, the E72 has a battery with 20% more efficiency although the Nokia E71 and E72 share the same battery type, but not the same back panel casing. Overall, the E72 is a welcome upgrade from the previous year. The E71 was already a kick ass device when it was launched, and it still is to this very day. The most tempting features that may force you to get the E72 would be the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack, which made debut with the E63 and the HTML email downloads, allowing you to receive more colorful and formatted email.

The E72 will be out in the Philippines come third quarter of the year. Wait for it!

I definitely remain happy with my Nokia E63. But I can’t wait for the chance to review this phone, so stay tuned!

(By the way, Jayvee’s trip to Singapore reminds of my own SG-escapade last year, where I was lucky enough to enjoy the Nokia 5800 up close and personal moments after its worldwide launch)
