Reader pitsi recently found the following ad while catching up on Facebook:

jdv3rd

Yes, Joey de Venecia the third has a very visible online profile—or at least, is trying to make it so. The landing page of the ad is joeydevenecia.com. The site contains a collection of articles detailing the plans, advocacy, and opinions of the son of the Philippine political personality.

It’s hard to guess how much JDV III would be spending on advertising his website on Facebook. The minimum cost is $1/day, and advertisers can choose to pay for clicks (CPC) or per 1000 views (CPM). What makes costing a bit hard is that Facebook varies the rates depending on what kind of targeting the advertiser specifies.

We can work on one assumption though: if JDVIII wanted any significant sort of exposure on Facebook, he’d have paid an enormous sum. I wouldn’t be surprised if he spent at least $1000.
