Globe’s New Mobile Surfing Plans

Whoops, I originally wrote that the new surfing plans went as low as 25 centavos per hour. All the rates cited here are actually per minute. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
Globe’s apparent troubles with its extremely-rebranded Visibility notwithstanding, the telecom’s new mobile surfing plans look interesting. That’s because, if you can control yourself, you get to pay as low as 25 centavos per minute of 3G surfing. Here are the packages, billed as add-ons to your typical Globe postpaid plan:
- Plan 149 – 10 free mobile Internet hours
- Plan 399 – 30 free mobile Internet hours
- Plan 799 – 60 free mobile Internet hours
Again, you must control yourself, because going above the free hour limit means returning to the old 33 centavos per minute rate!
Globe also announced its new Blackberry plans:
- Plan 700 – 5 MB of data (approximately 55 emails per day*)
- Plan 850 – 8 MB of data (approximately 90 emails per day*)
- Plan 1100 – 10 MB of data (approximately 115 emails per day*)
The asterisk above means “*Based on estimated emails using a Blackberry handset”. Many other conditions apply to these new offerings from Globe, so I suggest you head over to their website for more details.
Thanks to Captain Jepoy for the tip!

now this is what i’m talking about in my comment to your post last year. Kudos to Globe for offering GPRS/3G services on top of postpaid plans.

25 centavos or 33 centavos per hour? I think it should be per minute.

Ripoff! All these data plans are ripoffs! Why can’t we have a flat-rate monthly one?

I am a Globe Subscriber, and have an ADD-ON Data Plan 399 with free 160MB. If you convert this in Php, it is approx 24,000.00 @ P0.15/kb.
I have only used 17Mb and it reflects as 2,600.00 on my running balance in which not yet my final billing since it is yet to be deducted. Their customer service advice me to make an advance payment since i exceeded my credit limit… They mean to say i cannot use fully my 160MB free? and in order to continue their service i have to make an advance payment every time?
