Discounted GTA IV Copies From Yoshinoya?
By Rico, 9:09 am Wed Apr 8 2009 - Deals & Promos, Gaming - What Do You Think?
The banner pictured above, shared by reader Alvin, seems straightforward: plop down P1,300 and you get Gyudon, Shumai, Ice Tea, plus a “GTA Installer”. That’s a pretty unique promo in the local gaming and food industries, and interesting enough to actually make me want to visit Yoshinoya. But first, a few questions.
Is the “GTA Installer” an actual copy of the game? If so, P1,300 is relatively cheap for a legit game. In my experience, newer legit games cost as much as P3,000, slightly older ones range from P1,000 and P1,500, while classics can actually go for as low as P500.
Also, if Yoshinoya is really offering a copy of the game with a meal, for what platform is the installer? PC? PS3? Xbox 360? I’m betting PC, but hope that isn’t the case, since many of Filipinos who can afford regular gaming actually own a PlayStation 3 or an Xbox 360.
Lastly, who came up with this deal? Japanese food and an ultra-violent and free-flowing game? As Alvin writes, “But what the hell right?” Ultimately, I’m not complaining though, if Yoshinoya’s promo is a chance to get GTA IV for less.
