It’s About Damn Time Globe—WiMax at 512kbps for P795/Month

Perhaps in response to Smart’s recent push of HSPA, Globe has finally recently announced the launch of its WiMax service. The price? P795 a month for a 512kbps connection, with availability initially limited to select areas throughout the country, by the end of this month.

And you know what? It’s about damn time Globe! I heard about the telecom’s plans to roll out WiMax service as early as three years ago. Migs is correct that tests were conducted in the Cavite area (and also in Southern outskirts of Manila), under Globe’s Innove imprint.

Let’s hope Globe offers something faster than 512kbps soon. With competitors offering as much as 12mbps, the telecom may need to play some catch-up to attract more customers.
