Value for Money: The P2,100 Laptop Backpack

Reader Josh proudly showed off his new black Hawk laptop backpack, part of the brand’s CyberGear line. This particular bag costs around P2,100, and was found at SM Marikina over the last weekend.

The great thing about this backpack is that it features the same functionality as more expensive brands like Crumpler or Timbuk2, and doesn’t scream “steal me!” with it’s understated stylishness.

Great for Commuters

Yes, this humble offering from Hawk features the usual padding and compartments that characterize its pricier counterparts, including a hanging pouch for a 13.3″ laptop and space for secondary gadgets like the iPod and the PSP. On top of that, this backpack also has a waterproof sheath, connected to the bag itself by a garterized strap, that tucks away into a zipperized compartment at the bottom when not needed. Definitely a plus for the commuter!

Another mass-transit-oriented amenity is the hidden compartment, just below where the backpack straps meet the top of the bag. There’s no quick and easy way to open this pouch while the bag is worn properly.

Even if this does lack something the big boys have, there’s no arguing its price, especially if you’ve spent a lot on that expensive laptop. Check out the pics below:

I just got the same bag today march 8,2009 at Gaisano Bacolod. I never plan to buy anything this afternoon. but when i saw the bag. it was love at first sight. the design was very sleek, the cut was just perfect and the size was just right. I got it for 2,140.

The design of the bag was well thought of. the bag was design by an individual who has taste with functionality in mind.

Its a perfect bag for urban and rural setting. I can put my papers, extra shirts, laptop, my gun extra magazine, ammo , survival knife and still look cool.

I am very proud of this design. its good for business and sports purpose.

    Great bag…

Congrats Andy! Too bad lang, yung mga messenger bags ng Hawk Cyber Gear Line isn’t as well-designed as the backpacks, in my opinion.
