The P3,000 PC

PC Broker is currently selling Compaq Evo D500s for only P3,000. That’s only three-thousand pesos for a fully-functional PC running on Windows XP! So what’s the catch?

Well, the Evo D500 isn’t exactly cutting-edge. With a Pentium 4 processor ranging from 1.6-1.8Ghz in speed, a 40GB hard disk, and 512MB of RAM, this not-so-new PC isn’t built for playing the latest video games or rendering complicated 3D graphics.

But for anyone who just wants a computer to type out reports, surf the web, and watch a movie or two. The Compaq Evo D500′s price can’t be beat. If you do decide to shell out P3,000 for this extremely budget PC, you’ll have to spend for a monitor, or dig out an old one from somewhere, as a display isn’t part of the package.
