Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Pre-Launch Price: P20,000

Want a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic? You can order one now for P20,000, as announced during a media-only Nokia “Red” event held yesterday.
The 5800 became available for pre-order nearly a week ago. Units ordered beforehand would be available with Kjwan’s newest album, and tickets to an upcoming Hed Kandi event. But I openly wondered why Nokia wouldn’t reveal the pre-order price. Looks like Nokia wanted to reveal this bit of info with a bit of flair.
In any case, if you’re playing a wait-and-see game with the 5800, I’ve just emailed the folks at Nokia, asking how much the phone will cost when it officially comes out for retail, reportedly this January 23rd. Will update this article as soon as that info becomes available.
Now that we have a rough idea of the 5800′s price, what do you think?
(Update: Nokia got back to me. Apparently the P20,000 wasn’t the final price; the figure was “indicative… at current foreign exchange rates”. Also, “The pre-order price and the SRP once the phone will be in the stores should be the same.”)
