Nokia E63 Costs P14,200

Yesterday, Nokia sent an email announcing that the Nokia E63 is now officially available “all Nokia Stores and authorized retail shops” in the Philippines—”with a suggested retail price of P14,200“!
So we weren’t that off the mark after all: original projections priced this phone at “no more than P15,500″, and the promised released date was “mid-December”.
Before I stop writing this article, jump all over the place, and shriek “ayyyyyyy!!!”, let me recount what made me so gaga about this phone in the first place. Basically, the E63 takes the winning feature set of the E71 (WiFi, big screen, QWERTY keyboard) and makes it available at a much lower price.
Gone are the 3.2 megapixel camera (replaced by a 2.0 variant) and HSDPA-capability. But less than P15,000 gets you a phone that does a decent job of surfing the web and handling your email. Even better, the 3.5mm audio jack—a standard size that works with practically any earphone and headphone out there—makes the E63 a music player out the box.
I’ve been saving up for this phone, and it was well worth the wait. Now, if you’ll excuse me. Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!
