Blogger: “I Will Never Attend Another Event Handled by Perlas and Luna Again!”
Update: Jayce Perlas has apologized.

It’s quite elementary: treat a person rudely and they’ll complain. Treat a blogger rudely, and you can expect an eloquent condemnation popping-up online. Arpee Lazaro—who writes about gadgets on his website—was invited to attend a Samsung Blu-Ray event held yesterday. So why has he “never been treated so badly in an event”, and why are his fellow bloggeristas equating PR company Perlas and Luna with mud?
Here’s what happened, in Arpee’s own words…
…before I was allowed to register, I was accosted by Jayce Perlas (as it says on his name tag) and asked me what publication I was from. I answered him that I am a blogger and gave him my URL. He then asked me, “WHO INVITED YOU?” Mind you, this was BEFORE I was to register for the event. I gave him the name of the person who invited me to which he said, “I am the person in charge of invitations. Confirm ko muna kay XXXXX yung invitation mo, dyan ka muna. ” Whoa? I don’t see him asking my friend Dante these questions, why was he picking one me? So, despite being humiliated in front of the people in the counter and treated like an arrested shoplifter, I waited anyway. I even offered to show him my email invitation to which he turned his back ran after XXXXX.
When XXXXX, came down and saw me, she immediately greeted me and flashed her sweetest smile, “sir Arpee! salamat nang marami at dumating ka!” When Mr. Perlas saw this he said, “sige mag-register ka na.” After I registered, Mr Perlas told the girls at the counter, “lagyan mo ng care-of dyan sa gilid. Isulat mo care-of XXXXX.”
Actually Arpee, Jayce, with his well-styled hair, clear face, and aviator shades, was just trying to say you weren’t fabulous enough for the event! Seriously though, what ever happened to politely pulling someone aside to conduct some urgent business?

I wasn’t there, so I only have Arpee’s word to go by. But man, based on his story, such treatment was pretty harsh. This isn’t about bloggers like Arpee wanting special service, but simple courtesy.
Oh and by the way, Perlas and Luna was handling said Samsung event. I guess Jayce Perlas really was responsible for the invitations, seeing as he’s the Managing Partner of the PR company. See the blogger-hate over at Plurk here (No Plurk? Sign-up today!)
