Bea Alonzo Available Through iTunes, but Not in the Philippines
Yesterday, while checking out my Multiply, I saw this ad, which said to “Click here to download more of Bea Alonzo’s songs from iTunes”:
So I ended up on iTunes! (I was led here) The question was, could I actually pay for Bea Alonzo songs online through iTunes? Did Apple finally add the Philippines to its list of countries fully supported by the iTunes store?

Apparently not. Here’s what happened. I clicked on the Buy Album button, and was asked to provide my Apple or AOL Account. Since I had none, I tried creating one, setting my country to the Philippines.

Guess what happened? I was lead to the Philippine version of the iTunes store, which only offers iPhone and iPod touch applications. No music and videos! I tried revisiting the Bea Alonzo EP page, and was told that:

So, if I was a Bea Alonzo fan, I’d be pretty disappointed! Apple may have its reasons for not extending complete iTunes support to the Philippines (only God knows what they are), but why advertise Bea Alonzo online when most of your audience won’t be able to purchase her songs? This is all your fault ABS-CBN!
