Just received the announcement via email: the Apple Store is now serving the Philippines. From first glances, the prices are pretty competitive. Yet local retailers like Senco have apparently nothing to worry about, if they can continue selling MacBooks at lower prices. At the same time however, Apple Store Philippines carries a feature no one here can match.

Hmm, Peso pricing too expensive than USD. For example, the Ipod Nano in US Store is only $149, in PH store it’s like $200 (P9,500)! about $50 more expensive! They should have a USD checkout option.

ia: I was about to try it out, but backed at the last second, afraid that I’d have a hard time canceling the iPod touch I selected for the trial buy run!
zak: The problem is, the USD checkout option is only available in the US. It’s not a matter of the currency, but where you’re buying from apparently.
