Is the 4G nano Worth Buying?

Reader rose recently expressed her opinion over 4G iPod nano vs. 3G iPod nano:
It’s quite disappointing that you didn’t compare the two products comprehensively. If I were to write a comprehensive comparative review, I’d discuss if the 4G nano’s genius feature actually weighs more in terms of feature compared to the 3G. I’d also describe how the new features of the 4G nano are worth it. I was actually looking at this post since I wanted to know the difference from a person who has tried it. I would’ve appreciated if this ended on a conclusion if the 4G nano actually stepped up from its predecessors and if it’s worth a buy.
I’m sorry if you feel that way rose. But the focus of that article was the fact that despite being more portable, the 4G nano features practically the same display as the 3G. But you do raise a good point.
My take? Despite the lower price, the 4G nano isn’t a must-upgrade. Sure, the nano is smaller than ever, and though it took a while the Genius feature is a great way to find new songs. But in terms of features, we’re not talking about anything really groundbreaking or revolutionary here.
In short, if you’re already a proud owner of a 3G ipod nano, then save money and be happy with what you already have. In the end, it’s up to you; if you really really want the new nano, then I don’t think I can change your mind.
