Here’s definite proof that a significant number of Filipinos are technically-minded. ElectronicsLab.ph is a “Philippine Electronics Design/Electronics Repair Forum”. The website has over 75,000 posts and over 3,300 members, and from all from indication is quite active. Here’s a smattering of topics on the main forum list:

So obviously, you’ll need to know a bit about Electronics to interact in the forum, yet interestingly enough there are a lot of people sharing stuff with each other. As one member laments: “bago lang po ako dito at ang dami nang threads…… umpisahan ko ng magbasa…. baka abutan ako ng 2009…..hehe..”

Here’s to hoping that all these Filipino electronics enthusiasts use their knowledge to contribute to the Philippines, and not leave for greener pastures abroad.
