Dell Inspiron Mini 9 to See Philippine Shores by October 2008

Just got an email from local PR regarding the Dell Inspiron Mini 9. Prepare for the official announcement of the “detailed specs for the Philippine market.” Right now the only bone they could throw us were the following pics, the available colors (black and white) and a promise for a local release by “October 2008″:

We doubt if the aforementioned specs for the Philippine market will be vastly different than what’s been culled into this handy Wikipedia article on the device (”… will feature an 8.9 inch WSVGA(1024×600) display, a 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom Diamondville CPU, options for 512 or 1024MB of RAM, Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP, and 4, 8, or 16GB of SSD Storage…. carries WiFi, 3 USB ports and an optional webcam”). Dell’s local reps were probably talking about what kind of configs would be available in the Philippines anyway. Let’s see how close local prices will be to the $349 starting price in the US.
