By Rico, 11:11 am Sat Aug 16 2008 - News - 8 Opinions
Old prices: P41,899 for the 8GB model, P48,899 for the 16
New prices: P37,599 and P43,799 (minus P4,300 and P5,000, respectively)
As reported by inquirer.net:
The prepaid plans come with P1,000 load spread over 5 months, or P200 per month. Also, the first 1,000 phonekit purchases will get another P1,000 discount off the purchase price.
As mentioned by reader Alvin:
I can get an Mini-Note and an E51 with that amount… please tell me again why i should buy an iPhone.
As written by taklesa_pex (in response to the statement “[The iPhone is] a level above other mobiles.”):
A level above? Eh a simple copy and paste lang di magawa.

Globe called me, apparently i have a loyalty discount and I got offered 16k for the unit. But i still find it expensive since my postpaid plan does not include internet hours and I surf a lot so my monthly bill would definitely blow up, sky high. Come to think of it, i can get a new postpaid plan, say 2199 (which is bundled with internet) and pay only 14k for the unit. Globe rates are ridiculous.

It’s true Globe is offering their current subscribers with a special package iphone. I work in a bank and one of our clients told me Globe called her but she declined the offer. Well I guess it’s because people are not interested in buying that phone. I encounter rich people (because of my work) and they are not so excited about the phone. Their primary reason is the lack of basic features. So think about it. No video recording, no radio, no mms, cannot be used as a modem, only a 2 megapixel camera.
