Filipino Designer Recommends Six Great Wallpaper Sites

Rico Sta. Cruz recently shared with us six sites that feature good-looking wallpapers. Even better, none of them try to trap visitors with malware, unlike many other wallpaper sites out there:

InterfaceLift.Com – “Free High-Resolution Widescreen Wallpapers”. You can browse through wallpapers and sort them by date, number of downloads, and rating. On top of that, most of the wallpapers are available in different resolutions, customized for almost all the newer desktops and laptops out there.

JackRebel.Com – Maintained as a blog, this website features all sorts of designs, aside from wallpapers. A little browsing is required to reveal those desktop gems, but it’s well worth the effort!

GuiPulp.Com – GuiPulp is also a blog, though it focuses on a different style of design, which is framed by its distinctive emerald look. Like JackRebel, this website also features themes for the Mac OS X and Windows Vista.

Customize.Org – Boasting a flicker-like interface, Customize is also multi-dimensional in nature. Like the two previous websites featured here, it also offers icons, OS styles, application themes and even XP boot screens, aside from Wallpapers.

DeviantArt.Com – The refuge of artists all over the world, this site features some of them offering their works as wallpaper downloads. Unfortunately, it will take some time to find wallpapers among the millions of works of art posted on the site, but patient people will be well rewarded.

GUIStyles.Com – Also formatted as a blog, this website is yet another online place that offers even more icons, themes, and styles—again, aside from wallpapers.

Most of the sites listed above feature wallpapers as part of its collection, making locating them less straightforward. Luckily, as blogs (except for deviantart.com), they allow you to filter most of the content, and focus only on wallpapers, by selecting the “wallpaper” or “wallpapers” category. Happy searching!
